Instead of a rigid wooden base, it has a LYCRA fabric bottom that gently gives under the body, so every ride brings the familiar vestibular input of a traditional platform swing plus extra proprioceptive feedback. We've added it to our range at The Sensory Supply, North America's specialist sensory store, for homes, schools and clinics across Canada & the US.

Key Features of the Southpaw LYCRA Platform Swing

Classic Vestibular Input - Offers all the same vestibular input as Southpaw's wooden platform swing, so therapists and families get a movement experience they already trust in a fresh, fun format.

LYCRA Fabric Bottom - A stretchy fabric base replaces the solid platform, giving riders a new way to feel motion on a sensory swing and keeping therapy sessions exciting.

Soft, Resistive Base - The fabric cradles the body with gentle resistance, creating a soft spot to land that invites people to settle in and explore movement comfortably.

Extra Proprioceptive Input - Pushing into the resistive fabric adds body awareness feedback on top of swinging, helping users feel grounded while their vestibular system stays engaged.

200 lb Working Load - Rated to a 200 lb working load, it's ready for regular use in home sensory spaces and busy therapy rooms alike.

Made in the USA - Built in the United States by Southpaw, giving professional buyers and families added confidence in where their therapy equipment comes from.

Why Vestibular and Proprioceptive Swinging Supports Regulation

Our vestibular system tracks balance and movement, while proprioception tells us where our body is in space. A therapy swing that engages both at once is a go-to in sensory integration sessions and sensory diets, because that pairing often feels organizing and calming. People with sensory processing differences, autism, or ADHD may find this kind of movement especially helpful for focus and self-regulation, and it's every bit as enjoyable for anyone who simply loves to swing.

A Therapy Swing for Clinics, Classrooms & Home Sensory Rooms

Occupational therapists building vestibular and proprioceptive activities into sessions

Schools and daycares outfitting sensory rooms and calm corners

Multi-sensory rooms in hospitals, rehab centers and residential facilities

Families creating a home sensory space for kids and adults of all abilities

Neurodiverse and neurotypical movers who just want to play

Important note for use:

All Southpaw Swings are highly recommended to be used with a minimum of 1 Southpaw Safety Rotational Device.
