Our dramatic play fireplace brings the comfort of home right into your classroom, daycare, or playroom. The Whitney Brothers Warm and Welcoming Fireplace in white gives children a cozy place to gather, read, and play together. As North America's specialist sensory store, we're proud to offer it to early learning programs and families across Canada & the US.

At its heart is a striking pretend fireplace and mantel, flanked by adjustable shelves for books, photos, and favorite objects from home. Kids gravitate to it naturally, and that's exactly the point. When a room looks and feels like home, children settle in and start to play.

Key Features of the Whitney Brothers Play Fireplace with Storage

• Fireplace with Mantel - A striking hearth design becomes the inviting centerpiece of your early learning space, drawing children in for learning, collaboration, and pretend play.
• Two Adjustable Shelves - Shelves on either side store and display books, pictures, and objects that reinforce a child's natural connection to home, so you can refresh the display as themes change.
• Back Storage for Oversized Books - Extra storage behind the fireplace keeps big picture books tidy and close at hand, turning the unit into a practical classroom library piece.
• Rounded, Smooth Corners and Edges - Every corner and edge is rounded over and finished smooth, giving you peace of mind when little ones play up close.
• Durable Birch Plywood in Warm White - Birch plywood construction holds up to busy classroom life, while the warm white tone keeps the space bright and calm.
• Non-Toxic Natural UV Finish - A safe finish that won't yellow with age stands up to rigorous daily use, so the fireplace keeps looking fresh for years.
• GreenGuard Gold Certified - Certified for low chemical emissions, it's a confident choice for schools, daycares, and homes that care about indoor air quality.
• Fully Assembled - It's ready to use the moment it arrives, so you can set up your home corner without tools or build time.
• Made in USA - It's crafted in the USA by a furniture maker early educators have trusted for generations.

How a Classroom Fireplace Supports Pretend Play and Calm

Gathering around a hearth is one of the most familiar scenes in family life, and children love to recreate it. Pretend play here invites storytelling, turn-taking, and everyday role play that builds language and social connection. A home-like corner also gives children who find busy rooms overwhelming a familiar, lower-stimulation spot to regroup. That's why it works so well as the anchor of a reading nook or calm corner.
