Place, Roll & Match with the Experia IRiS Soundboard and Qube Bundle – Place Custom Images and Recorded Words in the Soundboard and Qube – Roll to Match, Light Up & Hear the Response

Description

The Experia IRiS Soundboard and Qube Bundle is an interactive communication and matching tool for any sensory room, OT clinic, or therapy space across North America. It pairs the IRiS Soundboard — a 55"W x 32"H wall-mounted panel with multiple image frames and a built-in speaker — with the IRiS Qube, the rollable 8"x8"x8" cube familiar from the Experia IRiS Bubble Tube and Qube Bundle, to create a wireless cause-and-effect matching system.

The mechanic is both simple and therapeutically rich. Place an image (any image) in the clear sleeve of one face of the IRiS Qube. Place the same image in the corresponding frame on the IRiS Soundboard, and record a word, phrase, or sound into that frame. When the Qube is tossed and lands with that image face up, the Soundboard immediately lights up the matching frame and plays the recorded sound. Roll the Qube to the cat face — the Soundboard lights the cat frame and says "Meow." The connection between the physical roll, the visual response, and the auditory response is immediate, clear, and precisely what cause-and-effect, matching, and communication intervention targets.

The Soundboard uses Experia's custom recording system so that any word, phrase, environmental sound, or AAC-relevant vocabulary can be loaded. The images are user-supplied and user-placeable, meaning the content is completely customisable to the individual user's communication needs, vocabulary targets, or therapy programme.

The Qube operates on an internal 9v battery (included) from a distance of up to 90 feet, making it usable across any standard sensory room layout without proximity constraints. The Soundboard is IRiS-compatible — it is an IRiS Listener and can be controlled by any other IRiS Talker alongside the Qube, allowing it to participate in a broader IRiS sensory environment.

All components operate on low voltage via the included transformer plugged into a standard 110v outlet.

Key Features of the Experia IRiS Soundboard and Qube Bundle

  • IRiS Soundboard - 55"W x 32"H Image and Sound Panel - A wall-mounted panel with multiple frames that hold custom images and record custom audio; when the corresponding image on the Qube lands face up, the matching frame lights up and the recorded sound plays immediately.
  • IRiS Qube - Roll-to-Match Gross Motor Controller - The same rollable 8"x8"x8" soft cube used in the Experia IRiS Bubble Tube and Qube Bundle, with clear sleeves on each face for custom image inserts; whichever face lands upward when the Qube is tossed determines which Soundboard frame is triggered.
  • Custom Image and Audio Content - Fully Adaptable - The images placed in the Qube sleeves and Soundboard frames are user-supplied; any image can be used. The audio recorded into each Soundboard frame is user-recorded, meaning the vocabulary, sounds, or phrases are completely specific to the individual user's communication programme.
  • Immediate Cross-Modal Cause and Effect - The toss of the Qube produces an immediate visual response (the matching Soundboard frame lights up) and an immediate auditory response (the recorded word or sound plays) - engaging visual, auditory, and gross motor channels simultaneously in a single cause-and-effect interaction.
  • IRiS-Compatible - Pairs with Any IRiS Talker - The Soundboard is an IRiS Listener and can be controlled by any IRiS Talker in addition to the Qube, making it compatible with any existing Experia IRiS sensory setup and accessible to users who prefer other Talker types.
  • 9v Battery-Powered Qube, 90ft Wireless Range - The Qube operates from an internal 9v battery (included) from up to 90 feet away, covering any standard sensory room without positional constraints.
  • Low Voltage Operation via Included Transformer - The Soundboard operates on low voltage through the included transformer, plugged into a standard 110v outlet.
  • Made in the USA - Manufactured by Experia USA.

Skills Developed Through the Experia IRiS Soundboard and Qube Bundle

  • Communication Skills - The custom image-and-sound matching system directly targets expressive and receptive communication goals: the user rolls the Qube to select an image, receives the auditory label from the Soundboard, and builds associations between images, words, and physical actions.
  • Matching - Matching the image on the landed Qube face to the corresponding Soundboard frame is a core cognitive and communication skill; the cause-and-effect confirmation (light up + recorded sound) immediately reinforces each correct match.
  • Eye-Hand Coordination - Tossing or rolling the Qube with sufficient control to orient a specific face upward develops intentional gross motor aim and eye-hand coordination in a highly motivating cause-and-effect context.
  • Cause and Effect - The direct, immediate, cross-modal response — roll action causes light and sound — creates one of the richest cause-and-effect learning environments available in the Experia range, engaging three sensory channels simultaneously.
  • Gross Motor Skills - Tossing, rolling, and handling the soft 8"x8"x8" Qube involves full upper-body coordination and intentional movement planning.
  • Colour Recognition and Visual Discrimination - Identifying which face of the Qube is face up, selecting the matching frame on the Soundboard, and observing the light response supports colour and image discrimination skills.

FAQ:

  • What is the difference between IRiS, Superactive, Calming?
    • IRiS: Take full control of your Sensory Room with Experia's revolutionary IRiS Wireless Sensory Products range. IRiS Products use the latest technology to allow any IRiS Talker to control any IRiS listener creating stimulating interactive multisensory environments for the user. Each controller has been specifically designed for special needs users to improve skills such as color recognition, gross and fine motor skills.
      • What is a Listener?: Experia products that light up and change colours, or create sound. This would include Bubble Tubes, Fibre Optics, Recordable Speakers, and more.  They are "Listeners" because they are listening for a signal from an Experia controller.
      • What is a Talker?:A Talker is Experia's word for a controller. Talkers/Controllers send signals to Listeners to change colours or make sounds. They are Talking to the Listeners. Talkers would include the Colour Selector, Qube, Balance Beam, and many more.
    • Superactive: The Superactive range of products allow the user a wonderful level of control over their environment. All Superactive products can be controlled with the standard 8 color wireless controller or the brand new wireless Maze Controller! The standard 8 color wireless controller is included with all our Superactive products unless otherwise specified. Adding both controllers allows for maximum Superactive feature usability for the best user experience.
    • Calming: The Calming range of products are designed to calm and relax individuals in certain settings. Simply plug them in and enjoy the lighting as each calming product slowly cycles through a rainbow of colours!
  • Will the Sensory Room packages fit in my room?
    • This depends not just on the room’s dimensions but on several factors like the layout of the room, location of windows and heating & cooling elements, and number & location of power outlets.
  • What skills do Experia products help develope?
    • Gross & Fine Motor
    • Auditory
    • Communicative
    • Visual
    • Creative & logical thinking
