The ProPower Compression Vest by Power WearHouse is a sensory compression vest for kids that feels exactly like a well-fitted hug. Wearable every day, through school hours, family outings, or therapy sessions, it gives children the deep pressure and proprioceptive input their sensory systems are looking for - without drawing attention or restricting movement. Available across Canada & the US through The Sensory Supply.
Designed by a team of occupational therapists with over 20 years of combined expertise, the ProPower was built on four guiding principles: Choices, Consequences, Consistency, and Compassion. The result is a compression vest that goes well beyond functionality - it's something kids actually want to wear.
The proprioceptive system is how the body senses its own position and movement. When children receive consistent, calibrated deep pressure through a compression vest like the ProPower, the nervous system gets organised and grounded input that supports focus, calm, and self-regulation throughout the day. Occupational therapists have long used compression garments as part of sensory diets - structured, personalised activity plans that provide the sensory input a child's system is seeking. The ProPower's three-setting colour guide gives OTs and families the ability to replicate the exact compression level prescribed, every single time.
Unlike many vests on the market, the ProPower design means the wearer or caregiver can maintain, adjust, or check compression without fully removing the vest - a practical detail that makes a real difference in school or clinic environments.
To fit: Place both shoulder and torso straps on the lightest setting (blue stitching). Zip up the vest, then reset the torso and shoulder straps to the recommended compression level. The ProPower Advantage means the wearer can slip the vest on and off over the shoulders at the correct compression setting using the zipper, or release the straps and slip the vest on and off over the head.
To clean: Hand-wash in cold water with mild detergent and air-dry. Do not dry in direct sunlight. Do not store under heavy objects. Store out of reach of the user without supervision.
